Manuscript Theme is a Jekyll theme designed for writers, essayists, and independent publishers who want their blog to feel like a magazine rather than a feed.

Design Philosophy

Print typography has centuries of accumulated wisdom about making text readable. Manuscript Theme borrows from that tradition:

• Cormorant Garamond display font for headlines — high-contrast, elegant, with true italic
• Lora for body text — the best web-optimized serif for long-form reading
• Drop caps on first paragraphs — the classic editorial marker for a new essay
• Pull quotes styled as oversized magazine callouts
• Warm cream background (#faf7f2) — easier on the eyes than pure white
• Oxford double rule (3px double) as a structural separator
